About Sanovia.

Yep. Just like you. If you wanna know if it is real, follow an IG story for a day. I am super regular.

I literally do not have a home right now. As of now, I just move and pray to GOD I don't fall off of someone's couch and hurt myself.

Eventually, it is my goal to travel sharing my heART through my music, poetry and workshops.

Maybe I can consider this the "extra" part of me. I just like to BE. That simply means that I try not to place too much judgement (BE KIND) on myself and I try not to define myself to the point of confining myself to one thing.

Today, I am the creator of The HeARTist Things to Say (THT2SAY) & light-bearer for the Pack Light brand. I hope to  work on my first studio album in the fall of 2017. I am  on a journey of "BEing" and have spent the last 11 months living a nomadic lifestyle on couches and in the spare rooms of my friends, families and network. Throughout the journey, I have leaned more about how to become a minimalist so that I will be able to give more of my self [energy] to the cause of the less fortunate. To sustain, I have mostly depended on my Christian  idea of faith in the impossible and an ideal from the Alchemist, "When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it." You can also catch me sporting the pink sticker on my car when I occasionally drive for Lyft.

A Short HerStory.

Born in Muncie, IN and raised by a ridiculously selfless and loving grandmother.

Found my identity in men most of my childhood because I really just wanted a hug, but felt the need to over perform. Essentially, I am a recovering people-pleaser.

I am spiritual and relational. Y'all would probably say religious, but a quote I heard one time really summed it up for me--Christianity is not about religion, it is about revelation (and relationship).

I am Black.

I laugh a lot.

I'm open--ask me a question!

I Do Stuff.

I am a writer and contender for women telling their stories in a way that completely transforms them from the inside out.

I sing a lot and sometimes I perform on some pretty dope stages. My first EP is slated to release before 2017 is over.

I am working on my Masters of Urban Studies (Community Arts Concentration) at Eastern University.

Following graduation from Ball State University in 2014, I knew it was time for a change and decided to do a year of AmeriCorps service in Philadelphia with City Year. Philadelphia began to give me the experience that resulted in tremendous growth in performance as well as entrepreneurship. Currently, I am still in Philadelphia.
